WE BELIEVE
OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe the entire Bible is inspired by God. We believe in one true God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that our sin separates us from God. Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood to atone for our sins, and He is the only way to salvation. Through faith in and confession of Jesus Christ, we are saved into eternal life and everlasting blessedness. We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ.

We believe in regularly taking Communion as an act of remembering what the Lord Jesus did for us on the cross. We believe water baptism is an act of obedience and an individual’s responsibility and privilege before God. We believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit is available to all believers, and we believe in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, who reveals Jesus Christ through the Word of God.

We believe God intends for each of us to experience an abundant Kingdom life while living here on earth and that God can bring physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. We believe God has called us to worship Him, develop disciples, and share the hope we have in Jesus with all nations. We believe the local church is a fellowship of believers centered on the person of Jesus Christ.

LEAD PASTORS

Picture
Robbie and Karissa Neal serve as Lead Pastors of Riverview Community Church, where their heart is to love, serve, and guide the church family while helping bring the hope of Jesus to the Kalama community.
Their story began right here in Kalama, where they started dating and gave their lives to Jesus while attending Kalama High School. After recognizing a need for local youth ministry, they helped launch Kalama Wyldlife in 2009. That step eventually led them to Riverview in 2011, where they spent years serving in nearly every area of church life, from children’s and youth ministry to communications and associate pastoring. After a two-year sabbatical running a local business, they felt God leading them back to Riverview in 2020 to serve as Lead Pastors.
What Robbie and Karissa love most about Riverview is the genuine way people love and care for one another. To them, church is more than a place to attend, it is a family committed to sharing the love and hope of Jesus with others.
Robbie and Karissa have three children, Kinley, Oliver, and Kiara, and love learning, serving, and being involved in the community together as a family. Outside of church, you’ll find them staying active, enjoying the outdoors, playing board games, or planning their next Disney adventure. Family game night is a weekly tradition, and after once owning and operating their own escape room, it’s safe to say a little friendly competition is never far away!
For Robbie and Karissa, it is a joy and privilege to serve Jesus, love the people of Kalama, and help create a church where everyone knows they are welcome.

FAMILY LIFE PASTORS

Picture
Ben and Heidi Porter share a heart for serving the children, youth, and families of Riverview and the Kalama community. Heidi serves with River Kids, where she helps lead the children’s ministry, plans curriculum, supports volunteers, and works to create a place where every child and family feels welcomed, known, and valued. With a background in Early Childhood Education, caring for and encouraging kids has always been close to her heart.
Ben serves as Riverview’s Youth Pastor and leads Ignite Youth Ministry. After recognizing a need for a youth ministry specifically serving students in the Kalama community, Ben felt called to step in and help “reignite” the ministry. Ben also works as a Battalion Chief for the Camas-Washougal Fire Department and has served in the fire service for more than 20 years.
Ben and Heidi have been married since 2009 and have three children, Kaylee, Andrew, and Abigail. They love that Riverview feels less like a place they attend and more like a family that continually opens its doors to others. When they aren’t serving at church, you’ll often find them cheering on their kids at soccer, enjoying the outdoors, camping, working around their property, or spending a cozy night at home with homemade pizza and a family movie.

WORSHIP PASTOR

Picture
Rushing Mayes is the worship pastor of Riverview Church. He plans Sunday morning worship as well as other events where music is part of bringing people together. His heart for serving is to be willing and available wherever God can use him. After moving from Texas, he and his family felt that God clearly led them to Riverview, and he is grateful for the opportunity to serve. One of the things he appreciates most about Riverview is the genuineness of the people. He loves being part of a church where people can be real about their faith, their questions, and their lives without feeling like they have to have everything figured out.
He and his wife, Ashley, have been married for 18 years and have two children, Elijah and Eisley. He considers being a husband and father one of the greatest joys of his life. Outside of church, he works in education as an assistant principal and enjoys just about anything competitive, from sports to games, as well as hosting and feeding people.
Something you might not know about Rushing is since he was 13 years old, he has marked every new state he visits by eating at a Taco Bell there. He’s quickly approaching state number 40, proving that some traditions are simply too important to give up!

DIGITAL CONTENT MANAGER

Picture
Justine Allen serves as Riverview’s Digital Content Manager, overseeing the church website, social media, and communications.
What she loves most about Riverview is the feeling of being home. From the warm welcomes and hugs to the genuine relationships found throughout the church, she loves being part of a church where people feel welcomed, known, and like they truly belong.
Justine and her husband, Jacob, have been married since 2010 and have two children, Hunter and Olivia. They both grew up in Battle Ground and moved to Kalama in 2018, where they quickly fell in love with the community. Justine has been a massage therapist since 2008 and owns a small business in Kalama. Her love for the community also led her to become involved with Kalama’s Giving Tree, where she helps support local children and families during the holiday season.
Some of her favorite moments are spent with her family. The beach is their happy place and they go whenever they get the chance. She loves the memories they make together and the chance to experience new things as a family. Being outdoors and surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation is one of her favorite places to be and a constant reminder of His goodness.
Justine’s heart is to use the talents God has given her to connect, encourage, and help others.

FINANCIAL BOARD

Picture
Riverview’s Financial Board is made up of Wendy and Robert Santiago, Debbie Todd, Karissa and Robbie Neal, and Carol and Dan Winten. Together, they help provide oversight and accountability for the financial resources entrusted to Riverview Church.
Our Financial Board is committed to responsible stewardship, clear financial practices, and transparency in how church funds are received, managed, and used.
Through thoughtful oversight, planning, and accountability, the board works to ensure Riverview’s resources support the ministry and mission of the church while honoring the generosity and trust of those who give.
Our goal is to steward what God has provided faithfully, operate with integrity, and remain accountable to both our church family and the mission we have been called to serve.
